Catherine E. Duffy of Somers, NY formerly of Patterson, NY died peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at The Paramount of Somers. She was 71 years old.
Mrs. Duffy was born February 1, 1949 in Bronx, NY the daughter of the late John and Frances (Murray) Evans. She graduated from High School and received her associate degree.
On Nov. 4, 1977 she married the love of her life, Raymond Duffy. Together they moved to Patterson, NY in 1982. Mr. Duffy predeceased his wife in 2008.
Catherine was a mortgage consultant with Putnam County Savings Bank (PCSB) for over 25 years before retiring in 2010. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Patterson, NY. She loved music, whether she was singing to her grandchildren, playing the fife, or instructing the band. She was a great cook and wrote a cookbook for others to enjoy. Catherine’s greatest passion in life was her family. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren dearly.
She is survived by her stepchildren; Susan Daher of Stormville, NY, Raymond Duffy of Lake Carmel, NY, Donna Cooney of Oviedo, FL, her six grandchildren; Sean, Lisa, Tracy, Christian, Connor and Jessica, her 4 great-grandchildren; Chloe, Dominick, Adrianna and Aubrey. Also, her siblings; Patricia Evans, Robert Evans, and Thomas Evans. She was predeceased not only by her husband but also by her beloved daughter daughter Tara in 2018 and stepson Darren in 1995.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday July 29, 202 at Sacred Heart Church, Patterson NY. Interment following at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster, NY. Friends may call at, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster on Tuesday from 3pm-7pm.
