North Castle, New York – On July 13, 2020, the New York State Police from the Somers barracks in conjunction with Pleasantville Police Department, and New Castle Police Department arrested an eighteen-year-old for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd degree, and Fleeing an Officer in a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree, both class A misdemeanors.

At approximately 1:15 a.m., Troopers attempted to stop a 2010 Audi A4 on Interstate 684 for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law in the town of Lewisboro.  The vehicle failed to comply and continued southbound on I-684 before leaving the Interstate on Exit 3 (State Route 22).  The subject continued on State Route 22 southbound and attempted to make a left-hand turn into the marked State Police unit causing a collision.

After the collision the subject continued south in the northbound lane causing the State Police patrol to terminate their pursuit.  Shortly thereafter the patrol again observed the subject now traveling north in the southbound lanes and took evasive action to avoid a second collision.

Pleasantville Police patrols monitoring the pursuit later found the subject’s vehicle and initiated a pursuit.  The subject fled north into the Chappaqua area in the town of New Castle and struck a utility pole.  The eighteen-year-old was then taken into custody by the New Castle Police Department.

The eighteen-year-old was arraigned virtually before the town of North Castle Court and released without bail.  The next scheduled court appearance is August 4, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.

Prior leaving the subject complained of pain and Troopers requested Somers Fire Department who transported the subject to Northern Westchester Hospital for evaluation.
