Sheriff’s Headquarters to reopen

Sheriff Anderson is proud to announce that the Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center (LEC) at 108 Parker Ave in the City of Poughkeepsie will reopen to the public beginning at 8 am on Monday 7/6/20. The LEC has been closed to the public since 3/16/20 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Starting on 7/6/20 the Sheriff’s Office LEC will once again accept visitors to the public lobby, subject to certain guidelines. The lobby will be open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8 am – 3:45 pm, and access will be limited to four (4) visitors at a time. In addition all visitors will be required to wear a mask, undergo temperature screening, and should be prepared to present picture identification for a short security check-in process.

Those needing to visit the Pistol Permit Division or get ink fingerprints taken should make an appointment ahead of time by calling 845-486-3883. Anyone who needs amendments to an existing pistol permit can call and make an appointment, mail the request in, or drop it off in the drop box in the vestibule. Forms and instructions can be found on the Sheriff’s Office page on the Dutchess County website. All other Divisions will continue to accept visitors without an appointment just as they did prior to the closure.
