Crash into utility pole in Stanford leads to arrest

Stanford, New York – On April 21, 2020, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Victoria R. Wheaton, age 27, of Pittsfield, MA, for Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

Shortly prior to 10:00 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to Route 82 in the town of Stanford for a personal injury crash involving one vehicle into a utility pole.  An investigation found the operator Victoria Wheaton failed to maintain her lane of travel and struck a utility pole while under the influence of alcohol.

Wheaton suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital by Northern Dutchess Paramedics.  Stanford Fire and Emergency Medical Services were also on scene.

Wheaton was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to the town of Stanford Court on May 27, 2020, at 4:00 p.m.
