Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Deploys Emergency COVID-19 Resources in Northeast Dutchess County

Sheffield, Mass. — Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and its Northeast Dutchess Fund are rapidly deploying flexible resources to assist individuals and families in northeast Dutchess County who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

In one week, generous donors contributed nearly $40,000 to provide grants for health services, food, utilities and other emergency needs for residents in crisis in the towns of Amenia, Dover, North East, Pine Plains, Stanford and Washington, and the hamlet of Clinton Corners.

Berkshire Taconic and the Northeast Dutchess Fund are directing all of the donations to social workers at partner nonprofit organizations Grace Immigrant Outreach, the North East Community Center and the Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County. These trusted client advocates are distributing grants to aid local individuals and families in economic distress due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Donations to support emergency grants can be made at BerkshireTaconic.org/DutchessCOVID. Residents may contact a social service provider through the foundation’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor Fund at BerkshireTaconic.org/N2NApply.
