Born on May 23, 1938, in Albany, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Hawes) Anderson.
Mrs. Killmer enjoyed her work as a self-employed home health aide who befriended her patients and went above and beyond, much to the appreciation of their families. An avid shopper, she counted amongst her best friends Hahne’s, Stern’s, Lord & Taylor and Bonton department stores. She was proud of her innate sense of style and ensured her family was always the best dressed in any situation. She was a patron of any casino with a good slot machine. Her proudest achievement was her role as a mother and grandmother who loved to spoil her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered by her family for her wit and cleverness of which countless stories will be told for years to come.
Mrs. Killmer is survived by two sons, Joseph Kress, Jr. of Great Meadows, N.J. and Michael Killmer of Knightdale, N.C. and two daughters, Kim Hadley of Somerset, N.J. and Candice Kehayes of Williamsburg, V.A. She is also survived by a sister, Sarah D’Amico of Flemington, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Kathleen Brommer, Ashley Calloway, Alyssa McMahon, Samantha Killmer, Taylor LaCorte, Camryn Hadley and Michael Kehayes; five great-grandchildren; and other loved ones Kimberly, Julianne, Lance, Justin, Jedda, Kayleigh, Jillian, Zoe, William, Jayden and Sophie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 62 Mill St., Dover Plains, N.Y.
