State Police arrest a Mamakating man Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors

On July 17, 2019, New York State Police arrested Leonard W. Durante, age 35 of Mamakating, for Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors 1st Degree, (felony) Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Coercion 2nd.(both misdemeanors)
The investigation determined that Mr. Durante, who was formerly employed as an Assistant Director of a summer camp, Camp Lakota in Wurtsboro, Sullivan County, New York, was corresponding via “Snap Chat” with a 16 year old male counselor from the camp. He solicited naked pictures from the victim and requested to see the victim naked in person.
Durante was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail on $40,000 bail. He has a return date of July 22, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
