Felony fugitive captured in Kinderhook

Kinderhook, New York – On April 23, 2019, the New York State Police in conjunction with Massachusetts State Police, Columbia County Sherriff’s Office, and the Schodack Police Department arrested fugitive from justice, Dennis P. Ducharme, age 28, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

 A joint investigation between the Massachusetts State Police and New York State Police from Troop K led to the discovery of Ducharme’s possible whereabouts in New York State after fleeing a felony arrest in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

With the assistance of the Troop K Bloodhound, K9’s from NYSP and CCSO, NYSP Troop G, Columbia County Sherriff’s Office, Schodack Police Department and NYSP aviation it was found Ducharme attempted to evade police capture by running from a convenience store into a nearby field.  Ducharme was located without further incident a short time later.

Ducharme is in custody and awaiting arraignment at this time.  An update will be provided when available.
