Skeletal remains found in Buchanan

Buchanan, New York – February 5, 2019, the New York State Police and the Buchanan Police Department have been investigating the discovery of a bone specimen from a property located in the Village of Buchanan that appeared to be human by the property owner.

Initial investigation with the assistance of the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office has tentatively identified the bones as pig in origin.  Final identification is pending the results of DNA testing.
