Two arrested in connection with a burglary in Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley, New York – On January 30, 2019, the New York State Police arrested Christian I. Rivera, age 21, of Wappinger, NY, for Burglary in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, and Ashley A. Kelly, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, a class E felony.On January 29, 2019, Troopers responded to Bower Road in the town of Pleasant Valley for a report of a burglary.  An investigation found Christian Rivera illegally entered a residence and stole multiple items including a LG television, Xbox console, Amazon Fire tablet, a watch, and a gold necklace.  The stolen items were then recovered from the possession of Ashley Kelly.

Rivera who had fled the area was located and arrested in conjunction with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and the city of Beacon Police Department.

Kelly was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Pleasant Valley Court on January 31, 2019, at 5:00 p.m.

Rivera was arraigned before the town of Stanford Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  Rivera was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on February 1, 2019, at 5:30 p.m., before the Pleasant Valley Court.
