...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THIS
MORNING...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation including snow, sleet and freezing
  rain. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and
  ice accumulations of a light glaze across Herkimer County.
  Coating to up to an inch elsewhere with also a light glaze of
  ice in some locations. Winds gusting as high as 30 to 40 mph
  across the higher terrain.

* WHERE...Herkimer and Montgomery counties, the greater Capital
  District of New York, Schoharie Valley, eastern Catskills, mid
  Hudson Valley and Taconics.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM EST this morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
  Untreated ground surfaces could remain icy even after surface
  temperatures rise slightly above the freezing mark.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THIS MORNING...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Herkimer County, the Mohawk
Valley, the greater Capital District, eastern Catskills and
Helderbergs, mid Hudson Valley and the Taconics of eastern New York.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the
Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   Winter Weather Advisory.

Additional snowfall is possible tonight, particularly across the
Adirondacks. Additional Winter Weather headlines may be needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Additional snowfall is possible Wednesday into Wednesday night,
particularly across the Adirondacks. Additional Winter Weather
headlines may be needed.

Strong west to northwest winds are expected Wednesday into Wednesday
Night. If the potential for gusts in excess of 45 mph increases,
then a wind advisory would be issued.

Very cold temperatures and gusty winds could lead to dangerously cold
wind chills across the higher terrain Thursday night into Friday
morning, and Friday night into Saturday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters should send reports of snow and ice accumulations to the
National Weather Service.
