Two charged after LaGrange traffic stop

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Austin A. Suarez (age 23 of Hudson NY) and Kawan A. Nunnally (age 26 of Albany NY) for felony weapons possession subsequent to a traffic stop in the Town of LaGrange during the early morning hours of 12/30/18.
On 12/30/18 at approximately 4:00 am, Deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 55 in the Town of LaGrange for speeding and failing to keep right, at which time Mr. Suarez was identified as the operator and Mr. Nunnally the passenger. During the stop Deputies located a handgun inside the vehicle, and after further investigation and interview, both subjects were taken into custody at the scene.

Both subjects were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree (felony), and Mr. Suarez was also charged with speeding and failure to keep right (traffic infractions). After being processed, both subjects were arraigned before the Town of LaGrange Court and were remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations, and Mr. Suarez and Mr. Nunnally are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
