Obituary, Allen Patten

Clinton Corners – Allen Dawe Patten age 87 passed away peacefully at The Lutheran Care Center on December 6, 2018. He was born on January 28, 1931, in Brooklyn, the son of Sophie Miller Patten and Hayward Patten. He is survived by his wife Betty Patten of 64 years, his three children – Lorraine and her husband Frank, Diane and her husband Steve and John and his wife Carmela, his granddaughter Sara and her husband Erik, and his grandsons Darren and Christian.

He was a proud Marine serving in the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1954. He worked as a diesel mechanic in Manhattan until he was 70 years old at the shop that he owned and operated.

In addition to his mechanical abilities, he was a very talented woodworker. He was never without a project and it is wonderful that our family has many of his pieces in our homes and they will serve as lovely reminders of how talented and loving he was to us all.

Service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Salt Point, New York on December 12, 2018, at 10:00 am.

We would love to express our deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff at The Lutheran Care Center and acknowledge their excellent care during this last difficult year.

In lieu of flowers please remember The Parkinson Foundation or the Pleasant Valley Free Library.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Allen Funeral Home. 1605 Main St. Pleasant Valley, NY. 12569
