Heinrich Wirth


LAKEVILLE — Heinrich Wirth, a long time resident of Lakeville, CT died peacefully in his home on Nov. 30, 2018.
Born February 28, 1935 in Munich, Germany he was the son of Georg and Angelika Wirth of Munich, Germany.
He was Ursula’s loving husband and father of four.

An architectural engineer and member of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, Heinrich Wirth worked on projects worldwide, specializing in airport construction. Recent work included the Munich Airport, Germany, Barajas airport in Madrid, Spain, ‘AIA’ Airport in Greece and airport projects in Cambodia. 

Heinrich spent 10 years of his life with his wife and children in southern Africa, where he was sent by his Munich-based architectural firm to design the international airport in Harare, Zimbabwe. Subsequently, he moved south to Johannesburg, South Africa, where he specialized in hospital design for the South African Gold Mines in the Witwatersrand and worked on projects for the South African Electricity Supply Commission (ESCOM).

Heinrich will forever be remembered by his loving family and the many friends he made in Connecticut (also as a member of the Salisbury Rotary Club) in his native Germany and in the many parts of the world where he lived and worked.

His final resting place will be in his native city of Munich. All services are private.
