Poughkeepsie, NY man arrested for possession of Heroin subsequent to a traffic stop.

Woodbury, NY – On November 19, 2018, at approximately 10:32 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Woodbury for a vehicle and traffic violation. During the interviewing of the driver in regards to the traffic violation, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. During the searching the vehicle and one of its passengers Robert J. Walker, age 62, of Poughkeepsie, NY approximately 10.5 grams of heroin was located. Walker was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh and subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree; a Class B Felony (with intent to sell)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree; a Class C Felony (narcotic drug)
  • Resisting Arrest; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor

Walker was arraigned in the Town of Woodbury Court. No bail information or return court date available at this time. The driver of the vehicle was issued traffic tickets and released without further incident.
