Bronx woman arrested attempting to smuggle drugs into Fishkill Correctional Facility

Fishkill, New York – On November 3, 2018, the New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations arrested Diana Guzman, age 48, of Bronx, NY, for Introducing Dangerous Contraband into Prison in the 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, both class D felonies, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, and Introducing Contraband into Prison in the 2nddegree, both class A misdemeanors.

On November 3, 2018, investigation found Guzman attempted to introduce approximately 18.3 grams of synthetic marijuana, and 85 sublingual suboxone strips into Fishkill Correctional Facility.  The controlled substances were hidden in black balloons on Guzman’s person.

Guzman was arraigned before the town of Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.  Guzman was next scheduled to appear before the Court on November 7, 2018, at 9:00 a.m.
