SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS 37-YEAR-OLD MAN
FOR SECOND COUNT OF FORCIBLE TOUCHING.

Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Michael Ramm, 37, of Castleton NY, on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Mr. Ramm has been charged with Forcible Touching, which is a class A Misdemeanor under the NYS Penal Law.

Mr. Ramm was previously arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on October 11, 2017 for Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in regards to a separate victim. This investigation came as a result of information gathered after the first arrest.

Senior Investigator Mark Dunspaugh of the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit began this current investigation on October 24, 2018. It is alleged in this incident that Michael Ramm intentionally touched the intimate parts of another person for no legitimate purpose.

The alleged act was reported to have been committed in the Village of Philmont in 2017.

Mr. Ramm was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Philmont Court on November 29, 2018 at 6:00 pm.

The Columbia County District Attorney’s Office assisted with this investigation.
