Pawling Library Teens Spread Kindness

Pawling Library Teens Spread Kindness

By Kate Lambert

If you have walked down Charles Coleman Boulevard this week, you may have noticed painted rocks placed on the sidewalks and in the gazebo. These are kindness rocks, painted by teens at the Pawling Library as part of the Kindness Rocks Project, an organization dedicated to spreading kindness in the form of messages of encouragement and hope. The rocks were decorated using acrylic paint markers, and include bright colors, drawings, and positive messages.

The Kindness Rocks Project is a national movement founded by Meghan Murphy. The Kindness Rocks Project website states that “one message at the right moment can change someone’s day, their outlook, and, indeed, their whole life.” By decorating a rock and leaving it for someone to find, we can spread positivity and make the world a little better.
