Two from New York City arrested in a stolen car after a short pursuit in Livingston

Livingston, New York – On September 9, 2018, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested Alicides Czetto, age 18, and Quansae Herring, age 16, both of Brooklyn, NY, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, a class D felony.  Herring was additionally arrested for Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree, a class D felony, and Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, a class A misdemeanor.

Troopers observed a 2017 Honda Civic traveling southbound on State Route 9H at a high rate of speed, in the town of Claverack, after fleeing the area of a suspicious vehicle complaint.  The occupants led Troopers on a three-mile pursuit before striking a guide rail on Route 82 in the Town of Livingston.  Both suspects then fled the scene on foot and were apprehended shortly thereafter.   Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen out of New York City.

Czetto and Quansae were arraigned in the Claverack Town Court, and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.  Czetto and Herring are next scheduled to appear before the Livingston Town Court on September 14, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.

The New York State Police were assisted on scene by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
