County to Hold Public Forum to Discuss
2018-2022 Child and Family Services Plan

Poughkeepsie … Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro invites residents to share their input as the Department of Community & Family Services (DCFS) holds a public hearing on the County’s 2018-2022 Child and Family Services Plan. The forum, which is open and free to the public, will be held on Tuesday, August 28th, from 4-6 p.m. at the Department of Behavioral & Community Health (DBCH) Training Room, 230 North Road, Poughkeepsie.

The public hearing will provide information about the services DCFS offers and how those programs can be accessed. Residents will have the opportunity to raise issues and offer ways to improve the delivery and provision of these services.

Residents’ comments, and the issues they raise, will be crucial for the development of the 2018-2022 Child and Family Services Plan.

Three discussions, based on specific service areas, will be held at the forum:

  • Child Protective Services, 4 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Family and Children’s Services, including child care eligibility, preventive service, foster care, youth services and persons in need of supervision (PINS), 4:30 to 5 p.m.
  • Adult Services, 5 to 5:30 p.m.

The Department will welcome comments on all other services after those speaking during the allotted times have been heard.

In 2017, DCFS staff delivered vital public benefits to over 30,000 individuals, more than one in every 10 County residents, across a wide array of services and programs.
