John Faso Doesn’t Understand the Upstate Economy

In an interview on FOX earlier this week, John Faso said the economy is moving forward “very swiftly” and that the stock market “continues to outperform expectations.”

Maybe Faso doesn’t realize this, but most working folks don’t own stock. In fact, the top 10% of American households own 84% of all stocks. A stock market that continues to outperform expectations is not indicative of a booming economy here at home.

Despite that fact, and not understanding the economic reality for many of his constituents, Faso said in an interview last week that our upstate New York economy is “booming.”

Booming for who? In every county people talk about feeling left behind and shut out by a system that doesn’t prioritize working folks. Just a few weeks ago Antonio spoke with a Woodstock resident with a master’s degree still working three jobs just to make ends meet and pay off student loans. Other people here have talked about working both a full time and part time job to get by. Working folks aren’t earning a livable wage that used to be available here in upstate New York.

Antonio is committed to bringing good paying jobs and opportunity back to our region. People here deserve a representative that will work for everyone and put the interests of hard-working folks first.
