Millerton man arrested for robbing a gas station with a knife

LITCHFIELD — Patrick T. Jaynes, 24, of North Center Street, Millerton was arrested Sunday and is accused of robbing a local gas station with a knife, according to a press release from the CT state police.

Jaynes, was charged with first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, breach of peace and possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle. He was held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday, police said.

Police received a report of an active robbery around 4:20 p.m. at the Patco gas station, 229 West St. The clerk reported a white man passed a note to him demanding money and displayed a knife. As the man left the store, the clerk was able to obtain a description of the fleeing vehicle, which was relayed to surrounding police departments, the release said.

Thomaston CT police found the vehicle on Route 254 near Innes Avenue and the individual was taken into custody and identified as Jaynes, according to the press release.
