Obituary, Michael Murdock “Big Mike”

 

Clinton Corners – Michael J. Murdock, “Big Mike” and affectionately known as “Funcle”, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was the born on July 27, 1960, to the late George Murdock and Martha Murdock. Martha survives at home.

Big Mike graduated from Stissing Mt. High School and was employed at Western Publishing and IBM. Big Mike lived for his family, friends, baseball, especially the NY Yankees, coaching his nephew’s baseball teams and his adventures as an entrepreneur. He was always the life of the party and knew how to throw a great party.

Survivors include his mother; Martha, brothers; George and Mary Murdock, James Murdock, Andrew Murdock, James and Rosemarie Cook and Dean Robinson, sister; Gizella (Gigi) and Mark Flinn, nephews; George and Toni Murdock, Andrew Murdock, Daniel Murdock, Christopher Murdock and Amber Camio, Steven Flinn and Rose List, Mark and Karley Flinn, Tyler Flinn and Matthew Murdock, nieces; Jennifer and George Pavlonnis, Mary Beth and Domenick DeRose, Jessica Flinn and Robert Coutant, Cathleen Murdock and Justin Hedden and Megan Murdock, great-nephews; Robert Coutant, Sean Murdock, Domenick DeRose, Carter Pavlonnis and Bradley Hedden, great-nieces; Avalyn Coutant, Alessia Murdock, Gianna DeRose, Jillian DeRose, Julia DeRose and Isabel Pavlonnis along with extended family and friends.

A celebration of Big Mike’s life will be held at a later date.
