Faso Supports, House Passes WRDA Infrastructure Package
WRDA Invests in Water Infrastructure Projects Across the Country
Washington D.C. – Congressman John Faso (R-Kinderhook) last night supported H.R. 8, the Water Resources Development Act on the House floor. H.R. 8 passed the House by a vote of 408—2. Previously, the bill was unanimously approved by members of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure during initial consideration.
H.R. 8 is an infrastructure bill considered every two years that authorizes investments in our Nation’s ports, inland waterways, locks, dams, flood protection, ecosystem restoration, and other water resources infrastructure.
“WRDA is a critically important investment package that affects infrastructure projects throughout New York,” said Faso. “Programs that support keeping the Hudson River navigable, ensuring local dams are properly maintained and helping communities have access to clean drinking water are prioritized in this bill. Our ability to move products through inland waterways to customers across the country and to every corner of the globe is important for our economy and job prospects in Upstate New York. Additionally, WRDA is important for efforts to improve flood protection and restore vital ecosystems.”
