State Police investigate fatal crash in Stanford

PRESS RELEASE
Stanford, New York – The New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on June 4, 2018, on State Route 82 in the town of Stanford at approximately 10:44 p.m.

Initial investigation suggests the operator of a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer left the roadway, and struck a tree.  After striking the tree the vehicle caught fire.  The fire spread to a nearby house, and was extinguished by Stanfordville Fire Department.

The two front seat occupants of the vehicle were pronounced deceased on scene.  A third occupant was airlifted to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The names are being withheld at this time pending notification to family members.
