Smythe Earns Endorsements From Putnam County Democratic Committee
(Kent, NY) Karen Smythe today announced that she has earned the endorsement of the Putnam County Democratic Committee. This formal endorsement, together with the Dutchess County Democratic Committee endorsement, recognizes Karen Smythe’s ability to beat current Senator Sue Serino and give Hudson Valley families and communities the effective and independent Senate representation they deserve.
“I am honored to receive the support of the Putnam County Democratic Committee, and I thank the members for their endorsement,” Karen Smythe said. “As I travel throughout the 41st Senate District, it is clear that voters want a change and are tired of current Senator Sue Serino’s failed representation. I will continue to discuss the issues that matter to Hudson Valley families, businesses, and communities, and I look forward to earning my constituents’ support to serve as our next State Senator.”
Putnam County Democratic Chair James Borkowski said, “We are pleased to support Karen Smythe on her bid to serve Putnam County communities in the State Senate. Karen will be a strong independent voice for our families and businesses. We have been very impressed by Karen’s drive and dedication to her constituents, and we look forward to working with her to win back this State Senate seat in November.”
Karen Smythe discussed her candidacy and priorities with the Putnam County Democratic Committee members on Monday evening, and her campaign was endorsed by a unanimous vote. Smythe had previously earned endorsements from Democratic committees representing the Putnam County towns of Philipstown, Putnam Valley, and Kent.
Kent Democratic Chair James Shearwood said, “Our communities deserve a State Senator who will represent our issues and priorities. Karen Smythe is a passionate campaigner and will be the strong voice our region needs in Albany. I am proud to support her candidacy.”
Philipstown Democratic Chair Lithgow Osborne said, “Karen Smythe has already hit the ground running, travelling throughout the district to speak with constituents and share her vision for a stronger, vibrant Hudson Valley. She is a hard worker and experienced job-creator, and she is exactly what we need in the State Senate.”
Putnam Valley Democratic Chair: Michael Bennett said, “I am proud that the Putnam Valley Democratic Committee endorsed Karen Smythe, because I know she is going to be a terrific State Senator.
