Wanted Connecticut Man Apprehended in Putnam

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a wanted Connecticut man.

On March 24, 2015, members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) arrested Marc D. De Benigno, 38, of 9 Clayton Road, Danbury, Connecticut. Authorities from Connecticut had advised the Sheriff’s Department that Mr. De Benigno was believed to be in the Putnam County area in violation of his probation. Mr. De Benigno had been convicted on charges of Burlary in the Third Degree, Larceny in the First Degree, Possession of Narcotics, Illegal Possession of a Weapon, and Credit Card Theft, and had been sentenced to probation in the State of Connecticut. The conditions of his violation prohibited Mr. De Benigno from leaving the State of Connecticut without written permission from his probation officer. Mr. De Benigno was located in his vehicle in the area of Peach Lake Road in the Town of Southeast. Mr. De Benigno was taken into custody and is currently awaiting extradition to the State of Connecticut.
