William Croce

William C. Croce, 76, a resident of Dover Plains, NY, died on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT. Bill was an engineer with the Penn Central and Metro-North Railroads for 29 years retiring in 2000. Bill’s love for his career and passion for the railroad was exemplified by his collection of model trains and railroad memorabilia.
He was an avid midget sprint race car driver and enjoyed watching all car racing. He was a life member of the Danbury Railroad Museum in Danbury, CT.

On June 23, 2001, in Dover Plains, NY, he married Diane Santolla who survives at home. In addition to his loving wife, Bill is survived by a son, Ed Croce of Croton, NY; a “son,” Richard Turner of Lisle, NY; a sister, Margaret “Cookie” Minelli of Hopewell Junction, NY; four nephews, a niece, and several great-nieces and nephews.
