Poughkeepsie…The Hudson Valley Regional Airport will host the 7th annual Open House & Car Show on Saturday, June 2nd from 9 am to 4 pm. Admission and parking are free. The event features a variety of fun and interactive activities for children, families, and adults, including aircraft and antique engine displays, tours, demonstrations and educational seminars. The event will also feature hundreds of vehicles on display as part of the Embalmers Car Club Annual “Wings & Wheels” show.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said, “We’re excited to host our annual Open House event at our Hudson Valley Regional Airport. This year’s event will have something for everyone, so I encourage families and children of all ages to join us on June 2nd for this day-long event packed with fun and excitement, history and technology!”

Aviation enthusiasts will enjoy a variety of aircraft displays including vintage and experimental aircraft, an S-76 helicopter, Cirrus aircraft and airport fire rescue vehicle, and more. Angel Flight Network, Civil Air Patrol, Dutchess County Firefighter’s Museum, Dutchess Community College Aviation Program, and the Poughkeepsie Pilots Association will also have displays and information available. A Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team (FAAST) Seminar, “Operations at Non-towered Airports,” will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the terminal building lobby. Helicopter and plane rides will be available (for a fee) throughout the day.

Children and families will have plenty of activities to choose from including K-9 demonstrations from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, building craft workshops from the Home Depot, and free child fingerprinting.

The annual event gives the public the opportunity to learn more about the Hudson Valley Regional Airport and its daily operations. The Hudson Valley Regional Airport has an annual economic impact of nearly $45 million for the local economy.
