Clinton man arrested after burglarizing local business

PRESS RELEASE

Pleasant Valley, New York – On May 7, 2018, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Kyle G. Ostrom, age 18, of Clinton, NY, for Burglary in the 3rd degree, Assault in the 2nd degree, both class D felonies, and Grand Larceny in the 4thdegree, a class E felony.

On May 7, 2018, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Troopers responded to South Road and Main Street in the town of Pleasant Valley for a fight in progress.  Investigation determined Ostrom had burglarized a local business, and the owners were attempting to detain him.  Ostrom struck one individual in the head with a rock prior to the arrival of patrols.  During the investigation it was also determined that Ostrom had stolen, and used credit cards for his own gain related to a prior incident.

Ostrom was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
