Brooklyn man arrested for assault in Fishkill

Fishkill, New York – On April 18, 2018, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Akil J. Baptiste, age 20, of Brooklyn, New York, with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D felony.
An investigation revealed that on January 14, 2018, Baptiste assaulted another inmate while he was incarcerated at the Downstate Correctional Facility.
Baptiste was arraigned at the Town of Fishkill Court, and he remained in the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Baptiste’s next appearance was scheduled for May 16, 2018, at 9:00 a.m.
