Brooklyn man arrested for promoting prison contraband in Fishkill

PRESS RELEASE

Fishkill, New York – On April 18, 2018, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested John M. Hayes, age 32, of Brooklyn, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree, a class D felony.

An investigation revealed that on June 5, 2017, Hayes was in possession of an improvised weapon while he was incarcerated at the Downstate Correctional Facility.

Hayes was arraigned at the Town of Fishkill Court, and he remained in the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. Hayes’ next appearance was scheduled for May 16, 2018, at 9:00 a.m.
