Delgado Takes Pledge Led By “End Citizens United” to Take No Money From Corporate PACs

KINGSTON, NY — Today, Antonio Delgado announced that he has taken a pledge led by End Citizens United to not take a cent of corporate PAC money in his campaign.

“Politicians like John Faso who are bought and paid for by special interests and big corporations are one of the great problems of our time,” said Delgado. “Faso has taken hundreds of thousands in corporate PAC money in his 30 years as a career politician. His vote to take away healthcare from millions of people who need it proves that he puts big donors and corporate special interests first rather than the hardworking families of the Hudson Valley and the Catskills. That is morally wrong. That’s why I’m taking a pledge led by End Citizens United to not take a cent from corporations or corporate PACs in this campaign. Unlike John Faso, I cannot and will not be bought.”

In 2016, John Faso took $257,750 from corporate PACs. He was also assisted by the organization New York Wins, which received $500,000 from Robert Mercer, a hedge fund manager and major funder of Breitbart News and Cambridge Analytica. He was also supported with $3.7 million from the Congressional Leadership Fund. The biggest donor to this organization was Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, who gave $20 million.

Established March 1st, 2015, End Citizens United is a Political Action Committee funded by grassroots donors, dedicated to countering the disastrous effects of Citizens United and reforming our campaign finance system.
