Middletown man arrested for Driving While Intoxicated

On April 22, 2018, New York State Police at Wurtsboro charged Theodore L. Lewis III, 53, of Middletown, NY with Driving While Intoxicated.

Troopers initiated a traffic stop of a gray Jeep Wrangler for erratic operation on State Route 209 in the town of Mamakating. Upon interviewing Lewis, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. He performed and failed field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to SP Wurtsboro. While at SP Wurtsboro, Lewis refused to perform additional field sobriety tests, and refused to provide a breath sample for the purpose of determining his blood alcohol content.

Lewis was processed and arraigned before the town of Mamakating Court, where he was released on bail pending a future court appearance.
