Amenia man arrested for felony DWI

PRESS RELEASE

Pleasant Valley, New York – On March 31, 2018, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Christopher J. Principato, age 41, of Amenia, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated with prior convictions within 10 years, a class D felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree, a class E felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.

On March 31, 2018, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2018 Honda Pilot for traveling in excess of the posted speed limit on State Route 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley.  Investigation determined Principato was operating while intoxicated with revocations on his license for prior DWI offenses, and had an active warrant for his arrest out of New York City.  A small amount of marijuana was also discovered in his vehicle.

Principato was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
