St Patrick’s Day Crackdown results in 13 Impaired Driving Arrests for Dutchess County Agencies
During the St Patrick’s Day Crackdown period of March 16, 2018 thru March 18, 2018 members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, Town of Hyde Park Police Department and Village Millerton Police Department conducted Impaired Driving details consisting of Saturation Patrols throughout the county in addition to their regular patrols. A total of thirteen impaired driving arrests were made during the three day period.
These details were funded by the Governors Traffic Safety Committee and the NYS STOP-DWI Foundation which for the 5th year in a row once again awarded the Dutchess County STOP-DWI Program a “Crackdown Enforcement Grant” for the 2017-2018 Crackdown periods. The objective of this continued enforcement grant is to revitalize and enhance the visibility of the STOP-DWI Program through coordinated multi-agency impaired driving enforcement details targeting identified statewide crackdown periods. They also include the assignment of certified Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) to aid in the identification and apprehension of drivers impaired by drugs other than alcohol.
Dutchess County STOP-DWI Coordinator William C. Johnson stated “with the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday falling over the weekend patrols were enhanced throughout the Crackdown period to deter and ultimately apprehend those who choose to drive impaired. This is another strong reminder that if any of your holiday “plans” don’t include a sober ride home the consequences could be severe.”Below is a listing of arrestees and charges from the details as well as arrests by agency patrols. Jason Wolfhart (21 yoa) of Wappingers Falls, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the City of Poughkeepsie.
James Williams (32 yoa) of Maybrook, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the City of Poughkeepsie.
Mario Lopez-Perez (46 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the City of Poughkeepsie.
Steven Graham (26 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI a misdemeanor after being involved in a property damage auto crash in the Town of LaGrange.
David Rupert (21 yoa) of Hyde Park, NY was charged with DWI & BAC 08% or more both misdemeanors in the Town of Hyde Park.
Richard Bray (27 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI & Aggravated DWI (BAC .18% or more) both misdemeanors in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
Bernadette Vargas (30 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI & Aggravated DWI (BAC .18% or more) both misdemeanors in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
Philip Dunham (34 yoa) of Canaan, CT was charged with DWI, BAC .08% or more & Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st all felonies in the Village of Millerton.
Bruce Beaty (54 yoa) of Beacon, NY was charged with DWAI Drugs a misdemeanor.
Darwin Vasquez-Recinos (29 yoa) of Brewster, NY was charged with DWI & Aggravated DWI (BAC .18% or more) both misdemeanors.
Gabriel Cruz Santiago (40 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI a misdemeanor.
Shane McNulty Baker (25 yoa) of Salt Point, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
Sunni Loverro (49 yoa) of Wingdale, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors
