Bronx man arrested for DWAI drugs and drug possession following a vehicle crash

Cortlandt, New York – On March 15, 2018, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Devon M. Anderson, age 23, of Bronx, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony, Criminal Sale of Marihuana in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor.On March 15, 2018, at approximately 4:50 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Red Mill Road in the town of Cortlandt.  Once on scene, Troopers observed a 1999 Honda Civic that had struck a tree and utility pole.  During an interview, Anderson showed signs of impairment.  A continued investigation determined Anderson was operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs.  A search of the vehicle discovered over nine grams of Oxycodone Hydrochloride, approximately 9.6 grams of Alprazolam bars, and multiple small baggies of marijuana totaling approximately 8.6 grams.

Anderson was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or bond.
