TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS LIFTED AT 8AM
The Dutchess County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) remains open this morning as storm conditions continue to impact parts of Dutchess County.
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said, “It has been another long night for many in Dutchess County, particularly highway crews, 911 operators, utility workers and emergency responders, as we responded to yet another significant winter storm. We are grateful to residents for heeding travel warnings and using caution. Much work still remains as we recover from these back to back storms, but we are grateful for so many dedicated people committed to public safety.”
Travel restrictions were lifted effective at 8am. Motorists are advised to utilize caution on roadways as there are multiple reports of down wires, trees and branches. Overnight, the Dutchess County 911 Communications Center received more than 100 reports of road closures. County and municipal highway crews have been addressing road conditions and local utilities are also actively addressing down wires.
Central Hudson is currently reporting more than 15,000 customers without power in Dutchess County. New York State Gas & Electric is reporting less than 700 customers without power.
The American Red Cross has closed the three overnight shelters that been operating in Amenia, Dover and Pawling as power has been primarily restored in that area. None of the shelters were utilized over the two days of operation.
Dutchess County Government offices, including courts, will open at 10am.
Dutchess County Public Transit bus operations will begin at 10am. Bus passengers can check for service status at www.dutchessny.gov/
