Two New York City men arrested for felony drug possession

Lagrange, New York – On March 7, 2018, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Omari F. Laviscount, age 28, of Queens, NY, for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with the Intent to Sell, class B felonies, and Tyrone M. Harper, age 32, of Brooklyn, NY, for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with Intent to Sell, class B felonies, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.
On March 7, 2018, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2006 Nissan traveling on Route 55 in the town of Lagrange for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. While interviewing the operator a strong odor of marijuana was detected. A continued investigation discovered approximately 17 grams of crack-cocaine, approximately 209 grams of heroin, approximately 3 grams of marijuana, and over $1,800 in U.S. currency.
Laviscount and Harper were arraigned before the town of Lagrange Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
