LaGrange Man Charged with Sexual Abuse

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Bernardino Cazares-Fuentes, age 54 of LaGrange, in connection with a recent investigation into inappropriate sexual contact.

On 3/5/18 at approximately 12:30 pm Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a location in the Town of LaGrange for a report of a sexual assault. Further investigation by the Detective Bureau led to the arrest of Mr. Cazares-Fuentes, and at this time he is accused of forcibly subjecting the victim to sexual contact. The victim and Mr. Cazares-Fuentes are known to each other, and at this time there doesn’t appear to be any danger to public safety. Further details are being withheld in order to protect the victim’s privacy.

At this time Mr. Cazares-Fuentes has been charged with Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree, which is Felony. After being processed he was arraigned before the Town of LaGrange Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.If anyone has information about this case or similar incidents involving Mr. Cazares-Fuentes they are urged to contact Detective Wilkinson at 845-486-3820. As with any criminal case the charge described above is merely an accusation and Mr. Cazares-Fuentes is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
