Troopers assisting with disabled vehicle results in felony drug arrest

East Fishkill, New York – On March 3, 2018, the New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested Fabian B. Barrett, age 34, of Uniondale, NY, and Romique A. Meyers, age 35, of Saint Albans, NY.  Both were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree, a class A-II felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.

On March 3, 2018, a Trooper came upon a disabled vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway near Carpenter Road. The occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of approximately five ounces of cocaine, and a small quantity of marihuana.

Barrett and Meyers were arraigned at the Town of East Fishkill Court, and they were remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail. Their next appearance was scheduled for March 9, 2018, at 3:00 p.m.
