Bloggers at the Pawling Library

By Kate Lambert

Each week, teens at the Pawling Library have been coming together to learn about blogging and create their own blogs. They have learned about the history of blogging, it’s relevance in today’s online environment, and how writing for the web differs from traditional writing.
Writer’s block is a common occurrence among writers, but Pawling’s teen bloggers do writing exercises to beat it and create content for their blogs, which include a personal blog about pets, and informational blogs about new video games, and personal journal-style blogs.
Writing helps foster imagination and creativity, self-expression, self-confidence, and communication skills. By coming to the blogging program, teens are learning new skills and improving themselves in a fun and friendly environment.  Questions about this and other teen programs at the library can be directed to teen@pawlinglibrary.org, or log onto the library website for information about teen programmming at pawlinglbrary.org.
