Poughkeepsie – Elliott F. Johnson a Poughkeepsie, NY resident entered into eternal rest from earthly labors on February 9, 2018, at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
He was the son of the late Lue-Ellen Dixon-Johnson, and Freeman James Johnson, born on October 15, 1943.
He was employed for Package Pavement for 30 years in Stormville, NY. Elliott later met and married Marilyn Lorraine Lacey, and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a faithful, dedicated and active member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie, NY where he was a member of the male chorus and served in the Fine Gold Men’s ministry.
Elliott leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, 3 sons, Melvin E. Johnson (Jackie), Samuel Johnson and Delswan Madden; 2 daughters, Mallory Holmes (James) and Sherrell Madden; 3 brothers, Samuel M. Johnson (Lorraine), Benjamin Johnson, and James Johnson; 3 sisters, Barbara Thomas, Lou-Inez Fryar, and Melvin Ella Lee Mattis; along with a host of grand, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews..
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Zetra M. Sinkler; 2 brothers, John Willie Johnson and Wilbur Williams and step-mother, Flora Ella Johnson.
Mr. Johnson will repose 10-11 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018, at Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catharine Street, Poughkeepsie, NY. Service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Jesse V. Bottoms Jr. will officiate.
