Hyde Park man and woman arrested for drug possession

Pleasant Valley, New York – On February 13, 2018, the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested David J. Hanlon Jr., age 40, of Hyde Park, NY, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd degree, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, all class D felonies, and Heather M. Eilenberger, age 38, of Hyde Park, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation.

On February 13, 2018, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Nissan Sentra at approximately 12:20 a.m., on West Road in the town of Pleasant Valley, for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.  While interviewing Hanlon, the vehicle operator, a strong odor of marijuana was detected.  Further investigation discovered Hanlon was in possession of approximately 2.86 pounds of marijuana and two switch blade knives while being a convicted felon.  Eilenberger was found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine and marijuana.

Eilenberger was released with appearance tickets returnable to the town of Pleasant Valley Court on February 22, 2018, at 5:30 p.m.  Hanlon was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  Hanlon is next scheduled to appear before the court on February 15, 2018, at 5:30 p.m.
