Poughkeepsie man arrested for criminal possession and sale of heroin

Poughkeepsie, New York – On February 2, 2018 the New York State Police Hudson Valley Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit, along with Troop K Uniform Members, arrested Michael Sterling, age 21, of Poughkeepsie, for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rddegree, a class B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rddegree with the intent to sell, a class B felony.

Investigators conducted a narcotics investigation which led to the execution of a search warrant at 421 Maple Street, in the City of Poughkeepsie. The investigation revealed that Sterling, who is a convicted felon, and currently on parole and reporting to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, engaged in the sale of heroin on numerous occasions.

Sterling was arraigned before the City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Members of the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision also assisted with the investigation.
