The Dutchess County Association of Chiefs of Police is an association comprised of the most experienced and respected law enforcement officials in Dutchess County.  The purpose of the Association is to promote inter-agency cooperation and specialized training for police departments across Dutchess County and the Hudson Valley.

Captain Jankowiak, who was sworn in as the new President, joined the New York State Police in 1990.  He served Troop “K” as a Trooper, Sergeant, Station Commander, and Zone Sergeant. Upon promotion to Lieutenant in 2001, he was assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Troop “A” at Batavia.  Upon his return to Troop “K” he was assigned as the Uniform Lieutenant in Zone 2 at Wappinger, a position he held until 2008 when he was appointed to the rank of Captain, and assigned to Field Command at Division Headquarters in Albany.  Captain Jankowiak returned to Troop K as the Uniform Captain at Poughkeepsie in 2012.  In September 2013, he was designated the Zone 1 Commander at Livingston, which encompasses Columbia and northern Dutchess Counties.

Lieutenant Scott M. Hurley, who was sworn in as the new Secretary of the association, joined the New York State Police in 2000.  He served Troop “K” as a Trooper, and became an Investigator at SP Wappinger in 2006.  In 2012 he was assigned as an Investigator in the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit.  Upon promotion to Lieutenant in 2015, he was assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Troop “K.”
