Two charged with burglary to local school

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of David M. Borrelli (age 36 of Pleasant Valley) and Felicia S. Burnham (age 30 of Bayshore, NY) in connection with a burglary which occurred at the Wappingers Junior High School during the evening hours of 1/3/18.

On the above date and time, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the school for a report of suspicious people and a possible burglary. Upon arrival, the suspects had left, but it was learned that they had allegedly entered the building during a school event and stole items from within the building and classrooms. Further investigation by Sheriff’s Office Detectives led to the identification of Mr. Borrelli and Ms. Burnham as suspects, and both were arrested on 1/5/18 in connection with the incident. The stolen items – a Hovercam and contractor’s nail gun – have both been recovered.

At this time Mr. Borrelli and Ms. Burnham have both been charged with one count of Burglary 3rd Degree, which is a Felony. After being processed they were arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Court, and were then remanded to the Dutchess County Jail – Borrelli on $15,000 cash/$30,000 bond, and Burnham on $20,000 cash/$40,000 bond. Both are due to reappear before the Town of Wappinger Court on 1/10/18 at 5:30 pm.The investigation is continuing and anyone with information should contact Detective Adam Harris or Detective Kate Capalbo at 845-486-3820.
