Obituary, Amalia M. Kozara

 

 

Amalia M. Kozara, 86, passed away at her Pawling NY home on Thursday, December 21, 2017.

A resident of Pawling for 14 years, she moved here from Yonkers where she was born on April 7, 1931 to John and Amalia (Henge) Powers.  She grew up in Yonkers and on June 15, 1952 she married Raymond Kozara, who survives at home, and was a manager at Carvel in Yonkers.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Raymond Jr. (Shelia) of Shrub Oak, NY; three daughters, Kathleen Kozara of Tarrytown, NY, Michele Fennell (Daniel) of Pawling, and Valerie Quartaro (Larry) of New Fairfield, CT; her two brothers, George Powers of New Fairfield, CT and Earl Powers of Massachusetts; and ten grandchildren, Raymond Kozara III and Kimberly Kozara, Samantha Fennell, Kali Fennell, and Daniel Fennell Jr, L.J. Quartaro, George Quartaro, and Elise, Quartaro, Meghan Behzadi, and Kristine Conley. She is predeceased by her twin sister Julia and older sister Betty.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the chapel at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, NY, followed by the burial.
