Troopers find loaded handgun during traffic stop

On Sunday December 17, 2017, Troopers patrolling the Mechanicstown section of the Town of Wallkill stopped a 2007 Hyundai for vehicle and traffic violations.  While speaking with the operator Chayne Price, age 19 of Middletown, Troopers noticed a strong odor of marijuana.  A subsequent search of the vehicle produced a quantity of marijuana and a loaded .357 caliber European American Arms revolver.  Price, along with his two passengers Keimoni Spinks, age 19 and Timothy Brown, age 25, both of Spring Valley were placed under arrest.  None of the occupants possessed a permit allowing possession of the firearm.

All three were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.  Price was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and various Vehicle and Traffic offenses.  The three were arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail.  Bail for Price and Spinks was set at $50,000 cash or $75,000 secured bond.  Brown was remanded with no bail set.
