Pawling – State Police arrest Wappingers Falls man on felony Driving While Intoxicated and felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation among other charges

PRESS RELEASE

Pawling, NY – On 12/16/2017, Troopers from the Dover Plains barracks arrested Ali B. Hedhili, age 40, of Wappingers Falls N.Y., on charges of felony Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Operating a Motor Vehicle without an Ignition Interlock Device, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, along with other Vehicle & Traffic Law (VTL) violations.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. Troopers observed a vehicle being operator by Hedhili, commit multiple VTL infractions.  After initiating a traffic stop of the vehicle and having Hedhili exit it, Troopers observed the odor of beverage alcohol emanating from Hedhili and obvious signs of physical impairment on his part.  Hedhili subsequently failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and refused breathalyzer testing.  As a result of the arrest investigation, Hedhili was found to have three previous convictions for DWI, including an Aggravated DWI conviction.  Hedhili was also found to have a revoked license stemming from a previous DWI conviction.

Hedhili was processed and subsequently arraigned in the Town of Dover Court on the aforementioned charges.  Due to state law concerning his charges, Hedhili was remanded to Dutchess County Jail with no bail.  Hedhili is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Pawling Court on January 11, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.
